The 6-1/2″ woofer employs Focal’s traditional “W” sandwich cone structure to deliver your audio content with remarkable precision. The agile Kevlar and glass-fiber woofers exhibit the necessary finesse to faithfully reproduce delicate classical music passages, while also possessing the power-handling capability to handle bass-heavy tracks with commanding authority. Focal incorporates a novel Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) rubber surround, reducing harmonic distortion to achieve the purest midrange sound quality. Additionally, Focal integrates an aluminum phase plug into the woofer to extend the frequency response.

The ES 165KX2 utilizes an exceptional 1-1/8″ aramid fiber tweeter featuring an inverted dome design in the shape of “M,” which effectively disperses high frequencies with exceptional accuracy, reaching as high as 22,000 Hz. The K2 Power crossovers incorporate handmade components crafted by Focal, designed to achieve a perfect balance between high and low frequencies, resulting in a dynamic stereo soundstage.
